I am trying to install the Sap Gui 7.50 for Mac. But I seem unable to find any usable documentation. WHen I install sap gui it refers to the chapter 5.1 (see below) I am looking for a step by step guide to set this up on a mac, as there have been some changes. Step 1 Validate JAVA is enable and running the latest version.
· On the Finder tool bar, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner and select System Preferences > Java.
· On the Java Control Panel, click the Update tab and validate you’re on Java 8 Update 40. If you’re not, please update your Java.
· Open Firefox and validate you’re JAVA Applet Plug-in is turned on and running Java 8 Update 40. To validate, click Tools > Add Ons. Click Plugins on the left panel. You can tell if it’s “off” if you have a “disable” button on the right side.
On the above screen you may want to click “Check to see if you plugins are up-to-date”. On the pop-up screen you should see your JAVA is up-to-date and pointing to Java 8 Update 40.
Close down the browser to activate the changes.
Step 2 Update the SAP GUI
Starting on Thursday, April 2nd , using Firefox, when you click the SAP Logon Production Mac link in Firefly, you'll automatically be guided through the update process at outlined below.

Within Firefly, click the SAP Logon Production Mac link. If you receive the “Do you want to run this application?” pop-up, click Run. An introduction pop-up window will open, click Next
A Readme pop-up window will open, click Next

An Installation Options pop-up window will open, click Install. Installation will begin. When the installation is completed, you’ll receive the following pop-up window. Click Close.

If you receive the following pop-up box, use the drop down and select the “Productive: Fully Trusted. Needs access to local resources” and click OK. You may need to click the SAP Logon Production Mac link again to open the SAP GUI if the SAP GUI doesn’t automatically load.
· If the SAP GUI does not open, using Firefox, follow these steps:
On Firefox, select Tools
Using the dropdown, click Add-Ons
On the pop-up window, click Plugins and if you are using the Java Applet Plugin version 51, then do the following
On the Finder tool bar, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner and select System Preferences > Java
On the JAVA Control Panel, select the General tab and under the “Temporary Internet Files” section, click on the Setting button.
Uncheck the “Keep temporary files on my computer” and then click OK > Apply > OK.
Restart Firefox, log into Firefly and re-launch the SAP GUI.
